And We’re Off…

Sitting at 32,000 feet on the way from Wichita to Dallas to start this journey! The last couple of weeks have been crazy and stuffed full of so many things!

  • Moving out of our apartment in Dallas
  • Transitioning to temporary living with Clint’s parents (it’s been fun to tell people I’m unemployed and living in my husbands parents basement 🤣)
  • Finalizing last minute items – vaccines, money, packing, Visas
  • Squeezing in as much time as possible with friends and family

The logistics of planning a trip like this has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Even with the help of a travel advisor (shout out to Beth, the best!) I feel like the planning has been fun but stressful. The question I get asked most is “how do you decided where to go and what to do?” The answer might surprise a lot of people but I’d say over half our research comes from YouTube. We’ve spent countless nights watching videos people have posted about places we were thinking about going. After narrowing it down to a region we then just started watching videos on various countries and places. While we do have a few regular travel vloggers we watch, most is just putting in “things to do in xxx” and seeing what comes up. There were places I was sure that we would go to, but after watching some videos, we decided to forgo them this time around. Furthermore, there were places that weren’t even on my radar that ended up making the cut!

An outline of the next few weeks for us:

  • Singapore – 5 Days
  • Hong Kong – 5 Days
  • Macau – 2 Days
  • GAdventures Tour though Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand throughout November

To sign off on this post I’ll leave you with a quote by the great Mark Twain. Here’s to the biggest adventure yet!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did.
